The Forge Theatre Board is pleased to announce our 50th Anniversary Season: Forge Theatre’s Greatest Hits
This year, the Playreading Committee chose to honor some of our favorite past Forge shows by bringing them back for an encore. Many thanks to this year’s committee members for their hard work and dedication.
Here they are — the plays and directors for 2011-2012.

September 9 to September 24, 2011
ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO’S NEST* – written by Dale Wasserman, adapted from the novel by Ken Kesey, this intense drama was first performed in our 17th season (1978-79)
Directed in the upcoming season by Wendy Mirto
Wendy joined Forge in 1993. Her first show was ANYTHING GOES.

September 30 and October 1, 2011
50th ANNIVERSARY GALA REVUE – a musical revue highlighting musical gems of the past with a Forge Theatre All-Time, All-Star cast. DID YOU KNOW — Forge’s very first musical was ONCE UPON A MATTRESS in our 16th season (1977-78)
Gala directed by Hal Holzer, with music direction by Denise Wisneski, and choreography by Renee Schulz

November 4 to December 3, 2011 (no performances Thanksgiving weekend)
CABARET* – book written by Joe Masteroff, music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb, this award-winning musical was first performed in our 24th Season (1985-1986)
Directed in the upcoming season by Dru Ullery
Dru has been a Forge member since 1993. His first show here was SWEENEY TODD.

January 13 to January 28, 2012
YOU CAN’T TAKE IT WITH YOU* — written by George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart, this classic American comedy was first performed in our 21st season (1982-83)
Directed in the upcoming season by Jim Kelsh
Jim has been a member since 1983. His first Forge show was GUYS AND DOLLS.

March 2 to March 17, 2012
ON GOLDEN POND* — written by Ernest Thompson, this moving character study was first performed in our 21st season (1982-83)
Directed in the upcoming season by Greg Morton
Greg has been a member of Forge since 1987 when he performed in MY FAIR LADY.

March 23 and 24, 2012
BROADWAY FOR LIFE CABARET – Our annual revue to benefit cancer research and the Phoenixville Relay for Life. The first BROADWAY FOR LIFE cabaret was held in our 44th season (2005-06); since then, this event has raised over $10,000.
Conceived and directed by Denise Wisneski
Denise became a Forge member in 1985. Her first show was CABARET.

April 20 to May 5, 2012
THE HEIRESS* — written by Ruth and Augustus Goetz, adapted from the Henry James novel, Washington Square, this moody period piece was first performed in our 5th season (1966-67)
Directed in the upcoming season by Robert Marsch
Robert joined Forge in 1994 as the stage manager for HOUSE OF BLUE LEAVES.

June 8 to June 30, 2012
THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD* — book, music and lyrics by Rupert Holmes, based on the unfinished novel by Charles Dickens, this “choose your own ending” musical was first performed in our 28th season (1989-90)
Directed in the upcoming season by Marnie Herzfeld and Hal Holzer
Marnie first joined Forge in 1982 for HELLO, DOLLY!
Hal became a Forge member in 1975. His first show was THE CURIOUS SAVAGE.
