AUDITION ALERT!!

39

Announcing auditions for the first show of our 2013-2014 season:

THE 39 STEPS by Patrick Barlow, directed by Renee Schulz.

Dates:  Sunday, May 19 and Thursday, May 23 at 7:30 PM

Show Dates:  September 13, 14, 20, 21, 22, 27, 28. 29, 2013

No preparation is necessary.  Director Renee Schulz suggests that you dress comfortably.  This is a physical show where 4 actors play all the roles, so there will be some movement/pantomime as part of the audition, in addition to reading from the script.

A note from Renee:  ”I’m looking for the male and female Hitchcock archetypes for the two leads (keeping in mind that hair dye and wigs were invented for a reason). I’m open to possibilities for the other two every”man” roles.”

THE DROWSY CHAPERONE pays tribute to the Jazz Age shows of the 1920′s and the power those shows held to transport us into a dazzling fantasy and to lift our spirits in times of sadness.

The show includes four romantic couples, a best man, a pair of gangsters, a deus ex machina in the form of an aviatrix, and the host/narrator, which is not a singing role. Yes, if you are a male who has always wanted to be in a musical, despite the lack of singing ability, this is the show for you.

What follows is a casting list with vocal ranges.  Age ranges are approximate stage ages and are by no means absolute.
