Has it really been 50 years since we did "Man in the Dog suit" in the firehouse in oaks, and then raided funds and wih the incredible physical and technical assist from Dick and Betty Silva, bought the funeral home for $ 15,000. and then tore it apart . . .worked overtime to gain the neighbors blessings for parking spaces, did shows, ripped out the elevator shaft and built an "entertainment center" downstairs for post production parties and danced all night . . . !!!

The good memories are huge and thank you Forge Theatre for giving me the chance to do a reprise of "Happy Days" in the bandshellone summer and for the chance to direct "I Never Sang for My Father" with Walt Truax and Dick Culver and . . . shortly after my Father passed on . . . which helped me through that time . . . and a night of Tennesse Williams when we did, "Suddenly Last Summer" with Betta Ann Silva and Rosalie Pharoh and a never done play called "I Can't Imagine Tomorrow" which few people will ever remember.

Thnak you for the incredible friendships and moments hat enabled me to go on and expand opportunities in Minnesota that ranged from direting "Picnic" and playing "George" in "Chapter Two" for Westonka Communtiy Theatre, and "Gigi" and "Julius Caeser" for "theartre in the Round" in Minnapolis and build a /fun resume as an on-camera a dnd voice-over talent and spokesperson for TPT ( Twin Cities Public Television) and hundreds of companies .

It all goes to Forge Theatre and the incredible crucible of opportunity it afforded me between 1971 and 1975 . . .I truly love, thank, and congratulate you all in a way that you'll never know and wish you all the huzzahs and wonderful talents that you can embrace, nurture, and support for all the tomorrows that will be yours.

From every nail that she hammered to create our building , every role she ever played on our stage, to every red chair she sold or cajoled us to sell for our 25th anniversary, Betty Ann Silva loved Forge Theatre with all of her heart and soul! Her only concern was that we would remain a successful, vibrant, and creative community theatre (and of course, that we would all adhere to the by-laws!!) Even from her hospital bed, she wanted Forge news! For those of us who knew her and loved her, she will be so very sadly missed! Rest in peace, dear friend!
